A little about me…
Hey Y’all!!! My name is R.J. May and I am a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Israel working on my M.A. in Security and diplomacy at Tel Aviv University. I am originally from Newport News, VA but have been in Columbia, SC for the past 6 + years. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Shortly there after, I became the Political Director/Field Director for Congressman Joe Wilson’s 2010 election campaign.
During the campaign, I was nominated by the Rotary club of 5 Points as a candidate for the Ambassadorial Scholarship. After a round of interviews and a weekend in Charleston I learned that I would represent the Rotary club of 5 Points and Rotary District 7770 during the 2011-2012 academic year at Tel Aviv University. Many thanks go out to my scholarship advisers Mr. and Mrs. Medway, Club Presidents (past and present) of the 5 Points Rotary Club, district President Paula Matthews, the scholarship board, and all-around Rotary superstar Lou Mello.
